The founder began teaching Hatha Yoga (Physical Fitness) early in 2000 and certifications from Bikram's Yoga College of India followed as early as 2002. He has also continued teaching Mary Jarvises Shape Shifting Routine since 2013 at her request. Learn More
Additionally, the owners hold the distinction of belonging to the Dynastic Hatha Yoga Lineage of Bishnu Ghosh (Elder brother of Paramahansa Yogananda) via continuous study with his Granddaughter Muktamala Mitra nee Ghosh and several Certifications from "Ghosh's Yoga College" - Calcutta, India. Consequently, they are certified in offering Yoga Therapy and The Original Ghosh "Yoga Prescriptions" in the dynastic tradition.

Welcome to The Original Hot Yoga - Where Everyone Fits In!
This practice was introduced to the West in 1965. The same poses are taught in each class so every class is appropriate for beginners. Every session is open to new students and you may drop in to any class. Each class has students of varying levels of experience and proficiency.
Come to class with a sense of humor and self compassion. For many, it takes a while to feel fully competent in the poses. Just know that everyone there remembers what it was like to be new to Original Hot Yoga. You will love the comraderie and support from the yoga family.
Occasionally, there is a masculine misconception that yoga is something only for the feminine, and that feminine is not tough, however that is all simply inaccurate. The Original Hot Yoga is the toughest yoga class available in the world, and it attracts the feminine along with the masculine! For instance, the Seattle Seahawks trained with this yoga prior to winning the Superbowl, Tony Parrish of the San Francisco 49ers practices this yoga class, and Kareem Abdul Jamar said he didn't have any injuries in his career due to this yoga class in particular.
This class is a demanding series of 26 specific postures (asanas), practiced in an exact sequence, and 2 breathing exercises (pranayamas), which are suitable for all ages and levels of ability. Each posture stretches and strengthens specific muscles, ligaments and joints needed for the next posture. Original Hot Yoga also stimulates the organs, glands and nerves, moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100 percent of the body, restoring all systems to a healthy working order. This scientifically designed, 90 minute program delivers total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness, injury and limit the effects of aging. In addition, the series of postures combines skills of concentration, patience, determination and self-control, which leads to increased mental clarity and reduced stress. Original Hot Yoga is practiced in a heated room (approximatley 105-110 Degrees & 50-100% humidity) to warm your muscles, prevent injury, allow a deeper workout, and cleanse the body by flushing toxins.

Why The Heat?
Yoga changes the construction of the body from the inside out, from bones to skin and from fingertips to toes. So before you change it, you have to heat it up to soften it, because a warm body is a flexible body. Then you can reshape the body any way you want.
Hatha Yoga flushes away the waste products, the toxins of all the glands and organs of your body. It provides a natural irrigation of the body through the circulatory system, with the help of the respiratory system. It brings nourishment to every cell of your body so that each one can perform its function and keep your body healthy. Original Hot Yoga also utilizes heat to further that cleaning process—when you sweat, impurities are flushed out of the body through the skin.
